The Utility Technician position is now open. This role operates on a 3rd shift schedule from 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM at AWS. The base pay is $22.50 per hour, with a shift differential based on experience.

Position Overview

The Utility Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant's utility systems, including high-pressure boilers, steam systems, ammonia refrigeration, sewer and water systems, HVAC, compressed air systems, cooling towers, pumps, and electrical controls.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain utility systems by adjusting equipment to comply with state and local standards
  • Document daily operating conditions and logs, including chemical dosages for cooling towers, wastewater, and boiler systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with boilers, ammonia refrigeration, cooling towers, air compressors, sewer and water systems, and other mechanical and electrical controls
  • Participate in emergency response procedures for ammonia safety incidents
  • Document as necessary for compliance with OSHA and PSM programs
  • Perform other duties as required, including operating, testing, maintaining, and repairing tasks
  • Assist others within the facility as needed
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices

Requirements

  • 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in water systems, wastewater, boilers, or HVAC
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and assess maintenance needs
  • Independent thinking to apply appropriate solutions
  • Detailed orientation, self-motivation, and ability to multitask
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and promote an inclusive work environment

Salary Description

The starting salary for this position is $22.50 per hour, with a shift differential based on experience.
