About the role
We are looking for professional, ambitious, and self-motivated individuals to join our team at Malcolm Hughes, one of the leading survey companies in the UK. We operate from offices around the UK and offer our clients genuine nationwide coverage.
Requirements
- At least 2-3 years’ experience working as a utility surveyor with a strong understanding of the PAS128 specification.
- Working knowledge and ability to demonstrate correct use of EML and GPR equipment and accessories in line with PAS128.
- Strong understanding of land survey theory and the ability to use Total stations and GNSS receivers for pickup of utility marks.
- Capable/proficient in data processing, interpretation, and presentation of survey results (using AutoCAD or other software).
- Proficient in the creation of written survey reports, permits to dig, manhole and inspection chamber record cards in accordance with PAS128.
- Experience of working with high density array GPR equipment such as Mala Mira/Stream DP.
- Experience in taking projects from ‘field to finish’, liaising with clients on requirements/specification, and providing professional advice.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to use initiative, problem solve, and work to deadlines.
- Good timekeeping and flexibility to work away from home for periods, including various shift patterns (e.g., night shifts).
- A committed attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced industry.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in post-processing GPR data and/or CCTV surveys.
