Utility Staff Position Summary
Wake Robin is seeking a dedicated and dependable Custodian/Utility Staff to join our Environmental Services team. Your work contributes directly to the quality of life and comfort of our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Custodial and Resident Support
- Aid with resident move-ins and transitions, including moving furniture and personal belongings.
- Set up, break down, and restore rooms before and after campus functions or events.
- Support maintenance of green rooms and related container systems.
- Remove trash and recycling as assigned.
- General Maintenance and Facility Care
- Collaborate with housekeeping to clean components of rooms or public areas as needed.
- Perform routine floor care, including vacuuming, mopping, stripping, and waxing as needed.
- Maintain carpet cleanliness through regular cleaning and spot treatment.
- Assemble basic furniture and hang pictures as requested.
- Replace lightbulbs and perform basic plumbing tasks (based on skill level).
- Wash windows and clean garages as assigned.
- Seasonal Duties
- Assist with snow removal, including shoveling sidewalks during winter months.
Qualifications
- One year of custodial, housekeeping, facilities, or related experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with pool operations preferred.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, moving furniture, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong customer service skills and a willingness to assist residents and coworkers.
- Attentive to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of custodial practices, cleaning equipment, and floor care techniques.
- Ability to safely use tools, equipment, and cleaning products.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email, digital work order systems, and electronic calendars.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing needs throughout the day.

Schedule
Sunday – Thursday: 10 am – 6:30 pm
Pay Range
$19.10/hour – $24.46/hour
