Utility Serviceman

About the role

The Utility Serviceman supports shop operations by cleaning, moving, and assisting with equipment and parts while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean machines, components, work areas, and parts.
• Maintain equipment used in performance of duties.
• Load and unload equipment, components, and parts.
• Transport equipment, components, and parts around the facility.
• Remove and install components or parts.
• Perform maintenance on equipment and components.
• Perform all tasks in a manner that ensures customer satisfaction and prompt invoicing and payment for work performed.
• Take proper care of all company-owned assets and keep work area clean and orderly.
• Perform all functions in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
• Other duties as required in support of Riggs customers and business operations.

Requirements

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and taste or smell.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and explosives.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Position is considered safety-sensitive.
• Required travel up to 10%.
