About the role
The Utility Serviceman supports shop operations by cleaning, moving, and assisting with equipment and parts while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean machines, components, work areas, and parts.
- Maintain equipment used in performance of duties.
- Load and unload equipment, components, and parts.
- Transport equipment, components, and parts around the facility.
- Remove and install components or parts.
- Perform maintenance on equipment and components.
- Perform all tasks in a manner that ensures customer satisfaction and prompt invoicing and payment for work performed.
- Take proper care of all company-owned assets and keep work area clean and orderly.
- Perform all functions in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
- Other duties as required in support of Riggs customers and business operations.
Requirements
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and taste or smell.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and explosives.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Position is considered safety-sensitive.
- Required travel up to 10%.
