Utility Security Officer (Open Availability)

Location: Louisville, KY area

About the Role

The Utility Officer works similarly to a flex officer but on a full-time basis. Schedules are typically made one to two weeks in advance, though last-minute needs may arise. Availability for all three shifts is required.

Desired experience includes SOC or extensive experience with security surveillance systems.

Responsibilities

Security Officers protect the industrial or commercial property of our clients against fire, vandalism, and illegal entry. Clients range from Class-A office buildings, luxury residential properties, distilleries, Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, telecommunications, manufacturing/industrial factories, hospitals, and more.

• Maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and property by monitoring and patrolling the premises.
• Prevent unauthorized access, detect suspicious activities, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of 25 years of age.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in using security systems, cameras, and basic office technology (e.g., email, Microsoft Office).
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for long periods.

For posts requiring operation of a company vehicle, candidates must be over the age of 25 with a screened motor vehicle record (accidents and violations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis).

Qualifications

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is preferred but not required.
• Security Officer License (where applicable).
• CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).

Pay

$20.25 USD per hour.
