Utility Porter-Clubhouse
About the role
The Utility Porter position is available at Summit Club, located outside of Las Vegas, NV. This role is part of the Clubhouse Residential Services Department.
Responsibilities
- Heavy Lifting: Lift and move banquet furniture, equipment, and supplies weighing between 70 to 100 pounds. Set up and break down banquet rooms as per event requirements.
- Setting/resetting room: Clean banquet/event/public areas from trash to appropriate receptacles and collect and transport used linen to designated area for pick-up.
- Equipment Operation: Operate various machinery like auto scrubbers, burnishers, and side by sides to maintain cleanliness and appearance of public areas.
- Furniture Extraction: Assist with the movement and arrangement of banquet furniture for events, ensuring setups align with specifications.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain banquet areas, including floors, carpets, and surfaces, to uphold high cleanliness standards.
- Special Projects: Collaborate on special projects related to banquet setups, clubhouse/club tower suite projects, and other event-related tasks.
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and restocking supplies, linens, and equipment required for banquet events.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling heavy objects.
- Customer Service: Offer friendly and helpful assistance to guests during events, responding to their needs and inquiries courteously.
- Flexible Schedule: Be open to working evenings, weekends, and holidays, as banquet events may take place during non-traditional hours.
- High Dusting: Complete high dusting of ceiling vents, wall decorations, etc., using proper techniques and equipment.
- Proper Chemical Use: Properly use and dispose of chemicals when conducting area cleaning.
- Bio-Hazard Clean-Up: Conduct bio-hazard clean-up as needed.
- Equipment Operation: Operate hand trucks and flatbed carts to move equipment to assigned work areas.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in professional cleaning or housekeeping, preferably in a high-end residential or hospitality setting.
- Excellent knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and best practices for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the clubhouse.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with residents, guests, and management.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to apply them in the workplace.
Skills and Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of previous utility porter experience preferred.
