About the role

Provide support to the facility in various positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform various jobs within the warehouse or on the grounds as assigned
• Pallet sorting, restacking, identifying product that does not meet customer specifications and rework, and sanitation
• Participate as a member of the Team
• Participate in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members
• Attend appropriate team meetings
• As a member of the Team, foster strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.)
• Accept responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues
• Actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understand this position's role in support of these systems — including the impact of individual actions and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives

Physical requirements

• Work in a busy, noisy, dusty environment with temperature extremes
• Work on feet for entire shift
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds

Required qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain company issued forklift certification
• Basic math skills, reading, writing, computer knowledge
• Good communication skills in English

Preferred qualifications

• Previous forklift experience
• Bilingual
• Military experience welcomed
