Responsibilities

  • Able to work safely at all times and be involved with the safe operation and safety improvement of the plant.
  • Work in a safe, conscientious, organized, and efficient manner.
  • Understand and operate boiler system, computer operation, PRISM, PLC, wheat blends and mixes.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and walk up and down stairs multiple times to perform job functions.
  • Develop or possess mechanical ability to assist in all aspects of mill repair.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with peers and supervisor including using company email.
  • Obtain a minimum Ardent Mills Level I electrical certification (required to open electrical panel).
  • Learn and proficiently perform testing and monitoring of product through the cleaning process using the FOSS, MYFC and other equipment associated with the tempering system.
  • Understand the functions of each machine and develop the ability to troubleshoot and correct any issues pertaining to the cleaning equipment.
  • Able to perform required preventative checks such as inspections, minor repair including temporary repairs, and adjustment of equipment.
  • Understand the milling process. Assist shift miller / assistant miller in their responsibilities.
  • Complete master sanitation schedule on a daily basis, perform daily centerline checklist, out of spec reports, SCORE audits, checks and other critical duties daily.
  • Various other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Willing and able to learn all facets off mill operation.
  • Basic computer skills for data collection, email, and PRISM process data collection.
  • A high school education and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with the milling process and equipment.
  • Willingness to work overtime, off shifts and cover vacations when required.
  • Safety consciousness and working in a safe manner.
  • Dependability and cooperation at all times.
  • Able to get along well with other employees.

Physical requirements and working conditions

  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, multiple times per day.
  • Climb ladder, step and extension.
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds and exert 20 pounds of force.
  • Frequently stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reach at shoulder level and below shoulder level.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a dust mask.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
