Utility Operator

Responsibilities

• All activity involving running machinery including the Wheelabrator, as assigned.
• Safety, housekeeping and maintenance duties.
• Organizing inventory controls.
• Project work, as related to the responsibilities of the position.
• Using various hand tools.
• Removing and replacing worn or broken machine parts.
• Filling in for material handlers and grinders, as needed.
• Working closely with supervisors of various departments to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
• Involvement in various duties, activities of the plant and projects.

• Ability to follow instructions and direction precisely, without distraction, until completed.
• Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making.
• Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Good work ethic and attendance.
• Ability to follow safety regulations.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to work with others to accomplish daily requirements of the position.
• Ability to multi-task under pressure.
• Valid driver's license or state issued ID and reliable transportation.
