Utility Operator
About the Role
The Senior Utility Operator role is responsible for independently running setup of the Spot Welding, Stud Welding and Clinch Studding machines and fabricating parts to standard.
Responsibilities
- Skilled to do utility work in any department within manufacturing independently.
- Ability to repair all defects independently.
- Troubleshoot machine misalignments.
- Understand how to correctly use the following functions within JDE programming (i.e. sending Kanban cards, tracking Kanban card status and history).
- Utilize and maintain Drawings, Non-Cad Process Sheets, Fab to Order and Operating Instructions.
- Identify material types and practice proper disposal of scrap.
- Demonstrate consistency in practicing all safety procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
- Complete all required work within expected time requirements with excellent quality.
- Model Team Member Expected Behaviors and Henny Penny core values.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 3-5 years of experience in spot and stud welding and clinch studding.
- Ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours or more a day.
- Ability to maneuver and hold large parts.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
- Knowledge of basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
- Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, JDE, BOM viewer, method sheets, etc.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check screen, and motor vehicle screen (if applicable).
