About the Role

We are Prairie Materials, part of Votorantim Cimentos North America (VCNA). As the North American operations of Votorantim Cimentos, a global building materials and sustainability solutions leader, we help build homes, highways, hospitals, buildings, bridges, and schools across the Canadian and U.S. Great Lakes region and Northeast United States.

The Utility Operator performs preventive maintenance and repair procedures on Production Plant and Rolling stock and operates heavy equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs of all Plant and Rolling Stock.
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures on plant equipment on a scheduled basis; inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace screen media, grease bearings, seals, repair or replace broken parts.
• Maintain a clean environment around plant area and all aspects of the property (housekeeping).
• Operate various machines from time to time.
• Inspect condition and operation of plant equipment and perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
• Adhere to all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks including MSHA and OSHA compliance.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as with others.
• Experience within the mining industry is a plus.

Pay

Salary Range: $26.00/hour - $28.00/hour
