About the role
Major areas of responsibility include delivery and pick-up of molds and supplies, using a computer to log information, shop maintenance, machine maintenance, driving a straight truck for delivery, maintaining delivery truck, shop safety and procedures, notifying manager of operational issues, quality or safety issues, and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Transport molds within the shop and company as required.
- Identify different types of molds and components and file properly.
- Complete daily paperwork and reports as required.
- Follow Mold Shop Procedures.
- Understand and follow the Shop schedule.
- Maintain machines, oil, and replace coolant as required.
- Drive a straight truck for delivery of molds and supplies.
- Maintain acceptable level of housekeeping by 5S standards in the assigned work area.
- Maintain building and grounds.
- Maintain and operate floor scrubber.
- Learn and accomplish quality goals and objectives, and actively participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Follow safety guidelines, Company policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Perform other duties as assigned, such as cleaning machines and floors.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Strong command of the written language in order to understand procedures and guidelines.
- Legible penmanship to write reports that are understandable to others.
- Demonstrated ability to make well thought out decisions and ensure appropriate courses of action are taken.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and under pressure.
- Vision must be correctable to '20-20' to read all necessary work related materials and visually identify defects in products being produced.
- Hearing acuity sufficient to understand spoken instructions or phone conversations in a factory environment.
- Ability to operate a forklift and obtain a DPG license.
- Ability to operate an overhead crane, big Joe lift and pallet jack.
- Ability to operate a delivery box truck, using mirrors for docking.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work overtime (OT) as required.
Qualifications
- Ability to demonstrate problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

- Manual dexterity and repetitive use of hands.
- Talk and hear while performing the responsibilities of the job.
- Work indoors and outdoors.
- Stand for the majority of the job.
