Utility Locator - San Antonio

About the role

Use utility maps, laptop/computer systems, and specialized locating equipment to identify and mark underground utilities (electric, gas, telecom, etc.). Work outdoors daily - walking 4–6+ miles across job sites and varied terrain. Meet daily productivity goals - typically closing 20+ tickets per day. Safely operate and maintain a company utility truck, entering/exiting frequently throughout the workday. Navigate the San Antonio metro area to complete assigned tickets on time. Communicate utility mark-outs clearly with paint, flags, and documentation. Respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed (rotational schedule)

Responsibilities

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work independently while prioritizing safety
• Comfortable using technology to close tickets and document field work
• Ability to route your day efficiently around your assigned area
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work overtime and Saturdays when needed
• Valid driver’s license (required)
• Willing to undergo a Federal DOT pre-employment drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Drive 50–200+ miles per day, depending on assigned territory
• Walk long distances over uneven terrain
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Frequent driving, bending, kneeling, and entering/exiting the vehicle

Benefits

• Starting pay: $18+ per hour (based on experience)
• Automatic $.50 raise after 60 days, and an additional $.50 raise after 180 days

Schedule

Full-time | Monday–Friday. Weekend work may be required to meet customer needs
