Reading comprehension skills Good written and oral communication skills Demonstrate the ability to prioritize work and meet daily deadlines About the Role: As a Dispatcher with One Call Concepts Locating Services, Inc., you will work in our corporate office and play a critical role in coordinating and managing the timely deployment of field personnel and resources to ensure uninterrupted services. Your primary objective will be to efficiently dispatch personnel in response to service requests and emergencies while maintaining clear and accurate communication with all stakeholders. You will serve as the central communication hub between field teams, management, and clients, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned. This role demands a high level of reliability and professionalism to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure, ensuring operational continuity and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, your efforts will directly contribute to the safety, efficiency, and reliability of utility services across the service area. A Dispatcher will have daily interaction with homeowners, excavators and utility personnel. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Strong written and verbal communication skills for client correspondence and internal coordination. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office software or similar systems. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working as a dispatcher within the utilities sector. Proven experience or knowledge of the utility industry and its operational protocols is beneficial, but not necessary. Advanced skills in documentation and record-keeping software. Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: Coordinate and dispatch field personnel based on priority, availability, and geographic location to address service requests and emergencies. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all dispatch activities, including work orders, crew assignments, and communication logs. Communicate effectively with field personnel, management, and clients to provide updates, gather information, and resolve issues promptly. Collaborate with team members and other departments to optimize resource allocation and improve overall operational efficiency. Monitor and respond to excavation requests on behalf of our customers. To include review of utility records and submission of records to excavators. Skills: The required skills are essential for understanding operational priorities and maintaining accurate records of dispatch activities. Reliability and multi-tasking skills enable the dispatcher to manage multiple service requests and emergencies simultaneously without compromising quality or response time. Teamwork and collaborative work skills facilitate effective communication and coordination with field crews and internal departments, ensuring smooth operations. Client correspondence skills are critical for maintaining professional and clear communication with customers, enhancing satisfaction and trust. A professional attitude and behavior underpin all interactions, fostering a respectful and efficient work environment that supports the utility’s commitment to service excellence. Schedule: Position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime. Office hours are 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Compensation: Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Wages will be based on individual experience.
