Our technicians are essential in their communities, ensuring gas, electric, and communication systems are dependable and well-maintained by performing high-quality utility marking to avoid damage during excavation.
About the role
As a Utility Locate Technician, you will work independently outdoors using your company-provided vehicle as your mobile office. You will complete a route of locate requests each day using the advanced LaunchPoint software system, which incorporates the latest technology to create efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and sometimes whiskers.
- Use your mobile work system to receive and complete daily tasks.
- Work on-call rotation and overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.
Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Record check, and background check.
- High School Diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license.
Note: This is a safety-sensitive DOT position that must comply with all Federal Department of Transportation regulations. The use of marijuana (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
Pay
Starting wages for this position will be $22.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
