About the role
The Utility Line Clearance Groundman plays a crucial role in maintaining the electrical infrastructure of the City of Claremore. They are responsible for providing line clearing and tree trimming services, assisting in the maintenance and repair of equipment, and reporting all damaged electrical equipment within the system.
Responsibilities
- Provide line clearing and tree trimming for the City of Claremore Electric Department
- Work as an apprentice, assisting Foremen and Trimmers in the crew
- Trim or remove trees in the electric easements
- Maintain equipment with routine maintenance and repairs
- Report all damaged electrical equipment within the system
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to work from a bucket truck at heights up to 75 feet
- Ability to work around and near power lines
- Commercial Driver’s License Class “B” with air brakes (CDL) or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Knowledge of climbing equipment and ability to climb and work at heights up to 100 feet
- Willingness and ability to work extra and irregular hours as needed
- Willingness to operate chainsaws and other power equipment
- Valid Oklahoma State Driver's License and CDL with air brake and standard transmission endorsements
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification or ability to obtain within 30 days from the date of hire
