Utility Lead

About the Role

This position is responsible for the packaging of charcoal briquets. Packaging line workers are required to work several different positions on the packaging line, including stacking, folding, diverting bags, and others.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and operate all positions within the packaging area
• Identify quality defects and their sources
• Train new wrapper operators
• Complete roll changes within 3 minutes or less; line changeover in 15 minutes or less
• Operate multiple lines (3 different machines)
• Complete First Report of Injury (FROI) and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with Supervisor
• Effectively perform 5S audits
• Train B Operators on necessary pre-shift setup and how to perform preventive maintenance (PM) for equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Standing for long periods of time
• Repetitive movements
• Lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling as necessary
• Ability to work in various weather and temperature conditions due to the open environment of the packaging area
