About the role

Covia is seeking a dynamic Utility Operator to join our team at the Marston, NC location. This role is critical for ensuring the safe and productive operation of the plant.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable MSHA Regulations and site procedures.
• Ensure safety and prevent damage, downtime, and quality issues by operating equipment safely.
• Support production orders, quotas, and overall quality at the site.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Avoid negligence or recklessness that might adversely affect safety and health of co-workers and production.
• Assist with plant maintenance and maintain housekeeping.
• Perform duties of packaging, shipping, bulk, and control room as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Literacy in English, both verbally and written.
• Previous experience within mining operations, preferably in sand.
• Prior exposure to operational equipment in sand.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment adequately.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks.
• Demonstrated experience contributing within a team of professionals to deliver set targets.
