The Utility Foreman - Grid is primarily responsible for supervising and performing installations, maintenance and testing of substation equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform all aspects of installation and maintenance of substation equipment.
  • Supervise and organize emergency activities associated with the restoration of substation equipment.
  • Provide field training to maintenance crews on a wide array of substation apparatus.
  • Assist crews in performing equipment testing, such as Doble power factor, Doble breaker speed analyzer, Alber battery test set and Kelman Profiler.
  • Provide a professional point of contact for contractors, internal/external customers, and design groups.
  • Ensure compliance with Configuration Management and substation equipment maintenance procedures and processes.
  • Facilitate and support activities associated with the realization of departmental and company goals.
  • Assure a safe work environment exists and actively and progressively require safe work behaviors and actions from all assigned crews.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or related work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in electric utility industry.
  • 5-10 years' experience in electrical substation maintenance or construction preferred.
  • Able to work with little direction with a high level of organization to accomplish multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be available for 24-hour callout and extended hours.
  • Must be certified and able to perform substation switching.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC Card and a CDL driver's license.
