Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise utility crews and subcontractors on active construction projects.
- Cookordinate daily work activities with the Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Read and interpret construction plans, utility plans, specifications, and layouts.
- Oversee installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utilities, including water, sewer, stormwater, and related infrastructure.
- Cookordinate excavation, trenching, pipe installation, backfilling, grading, and site restoration activities.
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, project schedules, and quality standards.
- Operate and work around heavy equipment as needed.
- Perform daily jobsite inspections and monitor work progress.
- Identify potential issues, delays, conflicts, or safety concerns and communicate them promptly to project leadership.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
- Cookordinate with inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades as needed.
- Assist with material and equipment coordination to maintain productivity.
- Track daily manpower, materials, equipment, and production activities.
- Train, coach, and develop crew members.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful completion of the project.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in utility construction, underground utilities, site work, or a related field.
- Previous experience leading or supervising construction crews preferred.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility installation and construction practices.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and utility drawings.
- Ability to operate or work safely around heavy construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and OSHA requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, subcontractors, and project partners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work as required.
