About the role

We are looking for a Utility Coordinator II to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in shaping transportation systems that enhance economic vitality, public safety, sustainability, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the identification, communication, and resolution of utility conflicts on Transportation/Roadway projects.
  • Manage and coordinate Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations, schedule, and submittals.
  • Research utility records, obtain project utility company contacts, existing maps and plans, prepare contact ledgers, and assist in utility conflict tracking reports.
  • Independently and with the project team, coordinate with utility companies and roadway engineers to meet client needs and objectives.
  • Aid in the preparation of client deliverables, utility exhibits, project guides, project reviews, project invoices, expense reports, and project monitoring/field verification, as needed.
  • Apply company/client quality assurance guidelines and procedures for project documents, time, and budget management.
  • Review and perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of utility company agreements, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and invoices submitted by utility companies to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and requirements of the client.
  • Frequent communication, both verbal and written, with project managers, clients, and utility owners to ensure project schedules are met and comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as any other regulations required by the client.
  • Support Project Managers in the development of proposal elements, project scope elements, budget elements, and schedule elements.
  • Type, format, and organize project documents, reports, specifications, and correspondence.
  • Create and maintain paper and electronic files.
  • Travel requirements are typically 10%.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to read and understand contractual documents, including deeds, engineering plans, sub-contractor proposals, reimbursement agreements, occupancy and use agreements, etc.
  • Basic understanding of real estate principles and the ability to read and understand easements, deeds, legal descriptions, and general documents associated with property rights.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, ArcGIS, KMZs, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.
  • Intermediate level or greater ability to utilize and build projects in MicroStation.
  • Familiarity with the Transportation/Roadway/Utility industry.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and understand civil transportation engineering design plans.
  • Ability to read and understand utility installation and adjustment plans.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
