About the role
The Utility Aide plays a crucial role in supporting the Dietary staff by performing various food preparation tasks in the kitchen. This position requires a strong focus on maintaining high health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Wash dishes and other dishware in preparation for future meal service
- Store dishes and dishware in the proper storage areas to ensure work-space efficiency
- Absorb and prepare carts for meal service
- Complete assigned cleaning duties including sweeping and mopping to ensure work-space safety
- Provide necessary assistance to the Dietary staff to ensure meals are prepared for clients on time
Requirements
- Prior food service work preferred, but not required
- Previous high volume kitchen experience preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements
- Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
- Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
- Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
