Utility Aide

About the role

Riddle Village, a lifecare retirement community, seeks Full-time and Part-time Utility Aides to join their dining department team. Responsibilities

• Cleans dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and silver by hand or machine
• Maintains the dishwasher, changing the water and cleaning frequently
• Fills out dish temperature logs
• Transports tableware to proper places in dining rooms and kitchen
• Clean work areas
• May assist in cutting, peeling, and washing fruits and vegetables for cooks
• Push carts into various dining areas
• Set food on steam tables
• Removes garbage from kitchen areas
• Sweeps, mops, and hoses down floors thoroughly at the end of the evening shift

Requirements

• Able to follow oral and written instructions in the English language
• Able to operate the dishwashing machine and any other equipment required to do the job
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Able to stand and walk short distances for most of the shift. Stooping, reaching for, pushing, lifting/carrying, and stacking supplies frequently
• Able to withstand temperature changes when going in and out of refrigeration/freezer walk-ins
• Strong customer service skills desired and an interest in working for the elderly
