Utilities Specialist

About the role

The Utilities Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the utility systems within Charles City, IA. This includes monitoring water, gas, and electrical systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair utility systems including water, gas, and electrical systems.
• Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues related to utility services.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding utility systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in utility maintenance or similar field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

• Knowledge of utility systems and operations.
• Experience with maintenance and repair of water, gas, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
