About the role
The Utilities Maintenance Senior Manager oversees and integrates all maintenance planning and execution activities crucial for the reliable and efficient operation of mechanical systems. This role involves strategic leadership to optimize maintenance processes, minimize downtime, and extend asset lifecycles.
Responsibilities
- Manages, reviews, and approves plans and schedules for all mechanical maintenance activities via the Plan of the Day/Week.
- Understands the CNS planning process for work package scope, identifies hazards and required procedures.
- Directs the maintenance planning team in creating comprehensive and effective maintenance plans.
- Makes decisions regarding the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
- Monitors planning and performance metrics to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Ensures timely and high-quality completion of all mechanical maintenance activities, including corrective maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs.
- Ensures implementation of prevention and mitigation measures to eliminate or reduce risks.
- Assists in reviewing plans, designs, and ensures the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities is executed by the job package as required.
- Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility for multiple work packages and scope.
- Develops organizational level implementation plans, processes, and procedures to ensure adherence to site-level policies, programs, and procedures such as radiological control, emergency preparedness, conduct of operations, security, configuration management, etc.
- Oversees the handling of personnel matters associated with direct reports. Interviews, hires and/or makes hiring recommendations; evaluates performance; rewards and disciplines employees; and trains / develop staff.
- Provides input to Supervisors for handling of employee complaints to resolve problems.
- Assists in reviewing Engineering design criteria including engineering instructions (EI), design drawings, and change requests (CR).
- Conducts and responds to audits, assessments, and surveillances for Utilities Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant supervisory/management experience.
- Eighteen or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting; must include, at a minimum, 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Candidate must have three years of required Utilities experience.
