Utilities Locator/ Field Service Technician

About the role

The Utility Locator / Field Service Technician position at Wheeler Basin Natural Gas involves locating and marking underground natural gas facilities, responding to customer service requests, performing field maintenance, and assisting with the safe operation of the natural gas distribution system.

Responsibilities

• Locate and accurately mark underground natural gas facilities using electronic locating equipment.
• Respond to customer service requests and field service calls.
• Install, inspect, maintain, and replace natural gas meters and service lines.
• Conduct leak investigations and safety inspections.
• Assist with gas system maintenance, repairs, and construction projects.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Complete required documentation using mobile devices and mapping software.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and federal/state regulations.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical labor.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
