User Experience Design Intern

About the role

This summer internship is based on Epic’s campus just outside Madison, WI, and includes financial relocation assistance for candidates moving to the area. As a User Experience Design Intern you will collaborate with fellow interns and full‑time designers and developers to create user‑centered applications for web, desktop, or mobile devices. You will be mentored by UXD professionals, take ownership of challenging, meaningful projects from day one, and gain a deep understanding of user needs while contributing to how users interact with Epic’s newest applications. Your work will directly improve the way millions of Americans receive healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interns, designers, and developers to design user‑centered applications for web, desktop, or mobile platforms.
• Take ownership of challenging projects from the start, delivering high‑quality results under mentorship.
• Research and understand user needs to inform interaction design of new applications.
• Contribute to software that improves healthcare delivery for millions of patients.

Qualifications

• Working toward a BS/BA (or combined BS/MS) in User Experience Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Information Science, or a related field.
• Junior standing or higher, seeking full‑time employment in the 2027 calendar year.
• History of academic success.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to relocate to Madison, WI for the duration of the internship.
• COVID‑19 vaccination compliance.
