The research project focuses on methods for enumerating Salmonella in poultry meat and developing poultry processing methods to minimize or eliminate Salmonella.

Learning Objectives

  • Training on bacterial research, bacterial enumeration methods, and Salmonella as a pathogen
  • Experience in statistical analysis, applications in poultry processing, and technology transfer to improve food safety

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Life Health and Medical Sciences received within the last 60 months
  • U.S. citizenship

Stipend

The participant will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with educational level and experience. The anticipated stipend range is $78,999 - $79,000 annually.
