USDA-ARS Postdoctoral Fellowship on Bio-based Technologies to Combat Spotted Lanternfly
About the role
The USDA-ARS is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work on developing new technologies for controlling spotted lanternfly insects using genetic editing, molecular biology, and bioinformatic techniques.
Responsibilities
- Develop insect cell lines
- Characterize gene expression across tissues
- Gene editing in the insect
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be currently pursuing or have received a doctoral degree in life health and medical sciences. The degree should have been received within the past five years or is anticipated to be received by July 31, 2026. Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Only.

Benefits
The participant will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with educational level and experience. The anticipated stipend is $74,678 annually.

Schedule
The appointment will initially be for one year and three months, but may be renewed upon recommendation of ARS and is contingent on the availability of funds.
