(USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

Join Walmart as a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician and support the repair and maintenance of our retail-store refrigeration and HVAC systems. Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Use the work-order management system to receive, document, and complete repair tasks that support stores and store associates.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required safety-training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Requirements

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (one of the following):

• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.

Additional Requirements:

• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman license.
• Ability to read and speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions in the last five years.
• No more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
• No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three years.
• Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 – $58.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
