(USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair within our facilities' Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets.

About the role

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician, you will maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment. You will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting stores and associates while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Requirements

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years.
• No more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
• No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three years.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
