(USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

About the role

Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. In this role, you will support and oversee repairs within Walmart’s facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders, support Stores and Store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
• Perform work according to Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications (one of the following):
  • Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
  • 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Commercial driving record with:
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years.
• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience.
• Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located.
