About the role

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician, you will support and oversee repair within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team. Utilize commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs and maintain exceptional facility standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive and document repair Work Orders supporting stores and store associates.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
• Perform work according to Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications (one of the following):
  • Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
  • 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman license.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record, including:
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years.
• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
