(USA) Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance

About the role

Walmart is expanding its workforce and seeking a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. In this role, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, or fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you will adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, support stores and associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.

Requirements

• 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
• Comfortable moving up and down ladders and working at heights frequently.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Able to work in various temperatures.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Vocational or technical certification and 1 year of experience, or 2 years of total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
• Ability to read and speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• OR 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program.
• License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Intermediate-level proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.00 - $61.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
