Position Summary

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, manages exterior facility operations while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.

What you'll do

• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety protocols and certification requirements.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow and ice management to ensure safe facility conditions.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to meet operational standards.
• Manage vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and documentation to ensure readiness and compliance.
• Cook up purchases of parts, equipment, and supplies while controlling costs and submitting warranty claims.
• Lead and develop third-party providers, fostering professional growth and ensuring service quality.
• Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies to maintain a safe and ethical work environment.

The Exterior Services Technician team maintains Walmart facilities through landscaping, snow removal, and seasonal upkeep, fostering collaboration and accountability to achieve business goals and deliver quality results.

What you'll bring

• Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Experience managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal.
• Certified to read and speak in the English language.
• Competence in troubleshooting equipment issues and providing technical support for repairs and maintenance.
• Able to prepare and manage budgets, including cost estimates and purchase approvals.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with management, third-party providers, and facility users.
• Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and quality standards in all tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
• No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
• No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
• Ability to read and speak in the English language.
• Two (2) years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.
• Able to obtain an Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
• Experience in third-party management.
• Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
