About the Role
Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations, and guides implementation of business solutions while communicating business objectives effectively.
Responsibilities
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
- Manage and support customer service initiatives, such as store of the community and outreach programs.
- Ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved; develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies.
- Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
- Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and setting clear expectations.
- Promote a belonging mindset in the workplace and recruit qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
- Coordinate and oversee job-related activities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and support plans to meet customer and business needs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company by creating a positive impact for associates, customers, and communities.
- Deliver results while prioritizing customer needs, adapting to shopping behaviors, and applying EDLP (Every Day Low Price) and EDLC (Every Day Low Cost) business models.
- Make data-driven decisions, balance short- and long-term priorities, and consider stakeholders in planning.
- Drive continuous improvement, adopt new technologies, and support others through change.
Requirements
- 2 years of college; OR
- 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
- 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments based on location.
- Complex Structure adjustments for external challenges.
- State Pay Differential to meet legislative requirements, where applicable.
