Position Summary
The Walmart is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to leverage advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to solve complex business challenges.
What you'll do
- Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains and databases to support analytics initiatives.

About the team
The Applied AI team develops advanced Search and Personalization solutions to enhance the shopping experience by making it more relevant and intuitive. Utilizing machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI technologies, the team builds scalable systems that help customers find products efficiently. Team members collaborate closely, applying expertise in algorithms and solution design to deliver innovative, impactful results aligned with business objectives. The team fosters a professional environment focused on technical excellence, continuous improvement, and customer-centric innovation, driving meaningful advancements in data science and artificial intelligence.
What you'll bring
- Proficiency in predictive analytics, machine learning algorithms, and advanced statistical modeling techniques.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau.
- Expertise in data strategy, including data quality standards, governance, and scalable data storage solutions.
- Ability to assess, validate, and tune models using appropriate evaluation metrics and best practices.
- Experience deploying and monitoring machine learning models in production environments.
- Knowledge of natural language processing, deep learning, and MLOps frameworks.
- Capability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions with clear communication to stakeholders.

- The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field.
- Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics related field.
- Option 3: 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics,
- Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R,
- Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch),
