Position Summary

As a full stack Staff Data Scientist for Walmart, you will be responsible for building scalable end-to-end data science solutions for our data products. You will own the MLOps lifecycle, from data monitoring to refactoring data science code to building robust model monitoring workflows for model lifecycle management. You will also develop and maintain scalable MLOps infrastructure, such as building Kafka pipelines for unified logging and monitoring across multiple projects. You will apply SRE principles for ML workloads, optimize cloud deployments, monitor performance, and troubleshoot application latency or operational issues. You will lead code quality and engineering best practices by conducting code reviews and mentoring junior MLEs. You will build and deploy end-to-end models, balancing accuracy, computational efficiency, and business impact.

What you'll do

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data science, machine learning, optimization models.
  • PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics.
  • Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
  • Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch).
