(USA) Software Engineer III
Software Engineer III with International Sam’s Tech (part of Walmart International business unit) is a fast-growing group focusing on strategic initiatives for International Sam’s Club markets. You will build and maintain software that enables Sam’s Clubs to operate efficiently and seamlessly with low costs, passing savings to customers while delivering the best experience and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software solutions upholding design patterns, coding standards, quality principles, and customer focus.
- Collaborate with the application development team to maintain and enhance large-scale distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- Build and consume RESTful microservices using Java/J2EE/Spring Boot and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Apply architectural, design, and testing patterns in a cloud-native environment (public cloud platforms).
- Work with high-volume, low-latency messaging infrastructure such as Kafka.
- Enforce engineering principles, code quality, and hold peers accountable to the same standards.
- Engage in Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.
- Lead software innovations and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with 5+ years of professional experience (or 4+ years of experience without a degree).
- 4+ years of experience in Java/J2EE/Spring Boot.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular (bonus).
- Solid experience in building and consuming RESTful microservices.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated experience with architectural, design, and testing patterns.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
- Exposure to Kafka or other high-volume, low-latency messaging infrastructure.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and team-focused approach.
- Self-starter with a passion for technology and continuous learning.
- Ability to work in a team environment and drive innovation at scale.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating accessibility best practices.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $90,000–$180,000, with additional compensation including annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
