About the role
Develop and modify device firmware using C/C++ to support visual perceptual quality features across computer vision, graphics, and display pipelines. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve firmware, drivers, and software applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain test infrastructure used to evaluate perceptual quality metrics, including latency, accuracy, quality, and motion-to-photon performance.
- Create and maintain unit tests, integration tests, manual validation procedures, and CI automation.
- Debug issues across the software stack, including firmware, drivers, hardware interfaces, graphics systems, and application-level rendering.
- Develop optimized firmware and software utilities for embedded platforms.
- Integrate platform-level features and enhancements where applicable.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation efforts, and software quality initiatives.
- Create clear technical documentation covering designs, testing strategies, implementation details, and validation results.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing and testing embedded firmware or systems software.
- 5+ years of hands-on C and C++ programming experience.
- Experience delivering production-quality firmware and software applications.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience building reusable test frameworks, harnesses, or validation infrastructure.
- Proven debugging experience across complex software and hardware environments.
- Experience with RTOS and multi-threaded or real-time systems.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and development workflows.
- Proficiency with Python or similar scripting languages for automation and tooling.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with computer vision, graphics, or display technologies.
- Familiarity with visual and perceptual quality metrics such as SSIM, JND, flicker thresholds, and motion-to-photon latency.
- Experience supporting AR/VR or mixed reality platforms.
- Android platform experience including NDK, JNI, or HAL.
