Responsibilities
- Triage and debug customer-impacting production incidents, identify root causes, and drive fixes through to resolution (including follow-ups and prevention).
- Lead/participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews; write clear incident timelines and implement corrective/preventative actions.
- Participate in on-call rotations helping to improve system reliability and operational response.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Support, Product, and Engineering to understand business pain points, provide feedback, and help drive improvements across the product and operational workflows.
- Develop and maintain backend tools and services that support operational workflows, including issue triage, order/policy remediation, and improvements that reduce Mean Time To Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
- Build internal dashboards, monitoring frameworks, and alerting systems to provide visibility into operational health and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience debugging production systems: reading logs/metrics/traces, isolating root cause, and implementing durable fixes.
- Experience participating in an on-call rotation and handling incident triage with calm prioritization and clear communication.
- 3+ years of experience in backend software development using Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience building internal tools, automation scripts, and operational dashboards.
- Understanding microservices, APIs, and backend architecture principles to design and develop effective internal tools and operational workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of investigating ambiguous production issues and improving reliability.
- Experience working in enterprise software, especially within healthcare, insurance, finance, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with software development best practices: testing, version control, CI/CD.
- Experience with monitoring/observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Grafana.
- Experience with big data processing platforms (e.g., Databricks or similar) is a huge plus.

Pay
$78,800 - $131,300. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.
