About the role
Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain: Tractors, trailers, yard trucks, service vehicles, and shop equipment.
- Complete work orders and basic diagnostics using electronic tools.
- Repair or replace engine, drivetrain, electrical, communication, onboard tech, and minor HVAC components.
- Identify needed parts and recommend repair solutions.
- Follow all safety, company, and DOT requirements.
- Communicate clearly with associates, vendors, and customers.
- Maintain fuel deliveries, collect samples, and complete required paperwork.
- Identify warrantable repairs and accurately document condition, cause, and correction.
- Process warranty tags and claims per company guidelines.
Requirements
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- Brake inspection qualification (per FMCSA Section 396.25).
- Vehicle inspection qualification (per FMCSA Section 396.19).
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
- Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.
Skills
- Technical school level coursework in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Department of Transportation (DOT) driver's certification.
- Experience in computer applications (for example, email, spreadsheets, word processing).
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications are a plus — but we will sponsor you to earn them if you are looking to grow!

- The hourly wage range for this position is $30.10 - $33.60.
- Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

- Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
