Position Summary

Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.

What you'll do

  • Performs inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs following company guidelines under the direct supervision of a qualified shop technician on some Walmart equipment, such as trailers.
    • Creates and processes work orders.
    • Affirms maintenance and repair needs.
    • Selects needed parts and possible solutions.
    • Conducts maintenance and repairs, such as dismounting/installing tires on wheels, repairing flats, balancing tires, adjusting landing gear, replacing lights, and trailer door repairs.
    • Follows company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines and requirements.
    • Sets up for fuel drops and conducts fuel sampling.
    • Maintains safety compliance during fuel drops.
    • Maintains and monitors tank levels before and after the drop.
    • Collects and prepares fuel samples for analysis and shipping.
    • Completes work order records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.
