(USA) Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. Bring your skills to our fast-paced and welcoming work environment supporting repair within Walmart facilities' Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders, support Stores and Store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications:
  • Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
  • Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
  • Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
  • Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman.
  • 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
  • Commercial driving record with:
    • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
    • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
    • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
    • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate’s of applied science in A/C and refrigeration.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Prior work experience with Glycol and CO2 systems.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $46.00 - $91.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
