Job Responsibilities

  • Promotes a safe work environment by ensuring associates use proper safety equipment.
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas (e.g., floors free of debris, equipment operational and clean, and hazards removed).
  • Requests materials, supplies, parts, and repair services as needed.
  • Manages daily production area operations by planning and establishing work schedules and assignments.
  • Makes sure operations, programs, processes, and practices are quality and effective.
  • Inspects materials, products, and equipment for defects or malfunctions.
  • Aids in production sequence planning to meet production goals and deliver superior customer service.
  • Ensures the timely resolution of associate performance concerns.
  • Completes and analyzes departmental reports.
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives and supports a Lean culture by documenting and implementing improved processes.
  • Participates in new hire and ongoing associate training.
  • Provides guidance on process improvements related to waste control, quality management, and process effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders, supports plans and initiatives, identifies and communicates goals and objectives, builds accountability, measures progress, identifies and addresses improvement opportunities, demonstrates adaptability, and promotes continuous learning.
  • Supervises and develops associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties, providing recognition, promoting a culture of belonging in the workplace, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years’ supervisory experience in a related environment (e.g., logistics / supply chain, dairy plant, food processing, manufacturing).
  • 2 years’ experience in clerical-related responsibilities (e.g., filing, data entry) and computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Visio).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, food science or related area.
  • Experience in packaging within a related environment (e.g., dairy production, food processing, and manufacturing).
  • Supervisory experience in a dairy plant, food processing or manufacturing environment.
