(USA) Prepared Food Lead
About the role
As a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead, you will drive sales in your area and supervise a team of hourly associates who create and serve meals to members, delivering value and quality. You will model expertise in Prepared Foods and Café, collaborate with other team leaders, and ensure the club meets member expectations.
Responsibilities
- Be a Team Leader: Supervise the team across all prepared foods departments (e.g., café, rotisserie, prepared foods). Facilitate rotations, manage member needs, communicate goals, execute company programs, and advocate for members, associates, and the company.
- Be an Expert: Maintain in-depth knowledge of floor and backroom operations, ensuring the prepared foods area meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance. Manage seasonality in production, understand new products/recipes/processes, and prioritize time across areas. Collaborate with associates and third parties to ensure the team has necessary resources.
- Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Use handheld technology to make real-time business decisions related to production, training, and product quality. Adopt new tools and encourage their use by the team.
- Be an Owner: Drive business results by ensuring operational excellence, planning for profitability, and maintaining a neat, clean, and safe work area. Ensure appropriate staffing levels, accurate audit and compliance standards, and merchandise display according to the layout plan. Engage with other departments and third-party partners (e.g., maintenance, suppliers, vendors) to ensure operational continuity.
- Be a Talent Ambassador: Teach and train the team by identifying training needs, developing skills to deliver high-quality products, encouraging career growth, and sourcing new talent internally and externally. Develop, communicate, and implement processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and customers. Monitor progress, identify improvement opportunities, and support compliance with company policies and ethical standards.

Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- 6 months of experience in a fresh production department or 6 months of experience supervising a team.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supervising a team.
- Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $22.00 to $30.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may apply in specific circumstances, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
