About the role

As a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead, you will drive sales in your area and supervise a team of hourly associates who create and serve meals to members. You will model expertise in Prepared Foods and Café and collaborate with other team leaders to ensure the club meets members' expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Be a Team Leader:
    • Supervise the team within all prepared foods departments (e.g., café, rotisserie, prepared foods).
    • Facilitate rotations through different fresh areas and manage members' needs to deliver on the business plan.
    • Communicate department goals, execute company programs, and adhere to policies.
    • Advocate for members, associates, and the company.
  • Be an Expert:
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of floor and backroom operations, ensuring prepared foods meet company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance.
    • Manage seasonality in production, including understanding new products, recipes, processes, and specifications.
    • Prioritize time between areas and collaborate with associates and third parties to ensure the team has necessary resources.
    • Share knowledge and train the team.
  • Be a Techie:
    • Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
    • Use handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
    • Adopt new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Be an Owner:
    • Drive business results by ensuring operational excellence and planning for profitability.
    • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area in prepared foods.
    • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and accurate audit and compliance standards.
    • Produce and display merchandise according to the layout plan.
    • Engage with other departments and third-party partners (e.g., maintenance, suppliers, vendors) to ensure operational continuity.

    • Identify training needs and provide or develop necessary skills to deliver high-quality products.

Requirements

  • 6 months of experience in a fresh production department or 6 months of experience supervising a team.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Acknowledge that the position requires completing all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if hired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising a team.
  • Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $22.00 to $30.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
