About the Role

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Conducts store tours to provide feedback (Tour-to-Teach) and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, sets clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating business objectives effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives (e.g., Store of the Community, community outreach programs), resolving customer needs, complaints, and issues, and developing action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and expense control, monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing contributions, promoting a belonging mindset, and recruiting qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
  • Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting business initiatives, communicating goals, measuring progress, addressing improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous learning.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans and utilizing the Open Door Policy.
  • Fosters a culture of respect by building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, creating an inclusive workplace, and providing opportunities for associates to thrive.
  • Works collaboratively, builds trusting relationships, and communicates with impact to motivate and influence teams.
  • Attracts and retains talent, empowers and develops associates, and recognizes accomplishments.
  • Acts with integrity by maintaining high ethical standards, modeling Walmart’s values, holding oneself and others accountable, and supporting sustainability initiatives (e.g., regenerative practices, local giving).
  • Serves customers and members by prioritizing their needs, adapting to shopping behaviors, applying EDLP (Every Day Low Price) and EDLC (Every Day Low Cost) business models, and making data-driven decisions.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.

For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. All associates must attend and complete job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional pay differentials may apply based on:

  • Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
  • Complex Structure (external challenges impacting the role).
  • State Pay Differential (to meet legislative requirements, where applicable).
