(USA) Member Team Lead

About the role

Assists management with the supervision of associates in the assigned area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Responsibilities

• Assign duties, communicate goals, and provide feedback to associates.
• Train associates on processes, procedures, and member service approaches.
• Ensure member complaints and issues are resolved according to company guidelines.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, scheduling, promoting, coaching, and evaluating associates.
• Support membership by providing information on membership types, programs, and benefits.
• Process memberships, upgrades, and credit accounts; encourage renewals.
• Participate in sales and marketing events; complete marketing recaps and documentation.
• Strive to meet membership goals and promote Sam’s Club products and services.
• Acknowledge members, identify their needs, and assist with purchasing decisions.
• Provide guidance on self-service technology and assist with transactions at registers or self-checkout.
• Ensure club pick-up orders are filled accurately.
• Oversee assigned area by handling claims, returns, and zoning merchandise.
• Identify shrink and damages; organize and maintain carts, flatbeds, and parking lot cleanliness.
• Complete accounting records, file transactions, and prepare financial reports.
• Assist with accounting-related investigations, prepare deposits, and manage cash fund transfers.
• Investigate overages, shortages, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Develop and implement processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and customers.
• Analyze information, monitor progress, and address improvement opportunities.
• Demonstrate and promote compliance with company policies, ethics, and integrity.
• Lead and participate in teams by coordinating work, providing feedback, and adapting to change.
• Embrace diversity, foster inclusion, and support associate development and recognition.

Requirements

• 6 months of retail experience, including operating front-end equipment (e.g., cash register).
• 6 months of customer service experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading a front-end team.
• Supervisory experience, including hiring, evaluating, mentoring, and workload management.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 to $31.00. The actual rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage for the job location. Additional premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour.
