(USA) Meat Lead
About the role
As a Meat Department Lead, you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Meat and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.
Responsibilities
- Be a Team Leader: Supervise the team within the meat department to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club by:
- Communicating the goals of the department and executing company programs.
- Adhering to policies and advocating for members, associates, and the company.
- Working collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets members' expectations.
- Be an Expert: Maintain in-depth knowledge of business on the floor, backroom operations, product updates, and product specifications by:
- Ensuring the meat department meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, equipment usage, safety, sanitation, and compliance.
- Sharing knowledge and prioritizing training for the team to understand item specifications and utilize approved equipment for high-volume products.
- Engaging with members and sharing passion for the product to help them make the right protein selection.
- Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to:
- Plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
- Utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
- Adopt new tools and encourage others to use them.
- Be an Owner: Drive business results by:
- Ensuring commitment to operational excellence and maintaining a neat, clean, and safe work area.
- Utilizing digital tools for forecasting, planning, and production.
- Facilitating product inventory and ordering processes, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, and maintaining accurate audit and compliance standards.
- Ensuring meat and seafood equipment and storage systems are in working order.
- Producing and displaying merchandise according to the merchandise layout plan.

Requirements
- 6 months of experience in a meat production department or 6 months of experience supervising a team.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if hired.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with meat processing, including boneless and bone-in products.
- Supervisory experience.
- Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 to $31.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
